DEEK's STORY
His Story
We all know what Metamorphosis is. Metamorphosis is a life cycle that brings changes in the body form, it consists of four stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. Now you might be wondering why we are talking about this and how it is related to Deek.
When you have a closer look at Deek's life, it looks very similar to a butterfly's life cycle with the following stages :
Parents : Egg Stage
The first stage is called Parents and he calls it as the “Egg stage- Age 1 to 10” as he was the yolk and his parents were the shell around him. July 24 1984, a son was born to Mr Dinesh Parassini and Mrs Sheeba Dinesh in God’s own Country, Kerala. They named him Deekshith and after 3 years his sister, Drishya was born, this completed his family. His life during this stage was completely shaped by his parents. He was a dutiful boy, who obeyed, listened and followed instructions from elders. Just visualize, Deek catching his parents hands with his dad on one side and his mom on the other side who are bending sidewards to look at him. Don't you think it resembles the shape of an egg? He is ever grateful and thankful to his parents for providing the strong foundation of values. This association will always be a part of each and every stage for the rest of his life.
Friends : Larva Stage
Now in school, age 11 to 18 was when he moved to the 2nd Stage of his life. Here he cracked out of the egg and became a larva or a caterpillar and was introduced to a new world of friends and enjoyment. He slowly started giving more preference to his friends. They always had some influence on everything he obeyed, listen or followed, which was quite natural during this age. During this time, it was all about having fun; taking life for granted, friends, friends and only friends, in short a happy go lucky kind of guy just thinking of the present survival, thats all. He just loved to be happy and loved to see other people happy. The only word which was in his mind was ENJOY, ENJOY & ENJOY like the caterpillar which is EAT, EAT and EAT. Had no other focus in life and just lived for that day. During this stage, life was very kind and he grew up to be an ace athlete in his high school and reached his peak when he achieved Inter-School Athletics Championship (Seniors) in 1999. However, he faced his first test from life when he badly hurt himself during an injury while running which led to a break in his athletics career. He struggled in vain for almost two years to get back to his peak but failed which was a big disappointment to him. Furthermore, people also started making fun and taunted him that he spoiled all his life because of his friends and being an average in studies, clearly made people proclaim that his future is messed-up. With all the negativity around, he finished schooling and enrolled for a bachelors degree program from Mountain State University, USA and also wanted to make money to prove people wrong and show them that he had a great future. Asked his father, would should I become, he told “be a manager”. He daily browsed through the classified section of the newspaper and realised that "Work experience was needed, to get the job you desire" and to be a manager you need 10-15 years of experience and an MBA. Doing all the caluclation, he understood that he would only be a manager at the age of 45-50, which was very old. Therefore, he just joined a private company as Depot Administrator as that was only job available to him to make that experience which is need. Pressure from work and studies slowly started changing his priorities and his friends weren't ready to understand what he was going through. Slowly he started to see the true colours of life, the reality that we all live in. Decided to switch off his mobile and go after success.
Divine Force : Pupa Stage
That’s when he stepped into the third stage "Pupa Stage", he sometimes calls it as the hibernation stage. Age 19 to Age 22. All disappointed, lonely, away from friends and extreme pressure from work and educational commitments began to crush him. His work timings were from 8am to 4pm and his college was from 5pm to 9:00pm. It was very tiring as it kept him occupied from 8am to 9pm and during the weekends he had no energy, was extremely exhausted so he just slept most of the time. He felt like was he was chained on his neck with a tight schedule and this is when he felt the formation of a restrictive cocoon around him and for sure the caterpillar would have felt the same way when it ??? losing all the freedom. Slowly he started to move to a depression state wondering where is his life was taking him and that's when he started to Meditate. This transformed him a Pupa, like the egg shell was in the form of his parents, now the cocoon was a Divine Force around him. This left him disappointed but a lingering question sprouted in his mind. Why did this happen to him? Seeking the answer to this haunting question he resorted to reading all possibles books he could get his hands on, relating to success and failure. In the quest for this answer he disconnected himself from the world for almost two years. That is when his Gurus and other virtual mentors, stepped into his life and started providing the answers to his doubts and questions on success and failure.
Age 23. Within the cocoon he got to understand life better and in a way life started giving better results. This began with a job offer as a store supervisor in an aircraft maintenance company. While working there for two years, he finished his BSc in Business Administration which got him promoted to a customer service coordinator. His aspirations also started growing and he wondered "why is that he here and his boss is sitting there" "What does his boss have that he doesn't", "Why is his boss better paid than him" That fuelled his desire for success. The first thing which he noted was that every successful person was a good reader. Unfortunately, reading was not his forte and the only thing which interested him was comics. However, he was determined and started with his first book called, “The Millionaire’s mind” written by T Harv Eker. This book gave him a new insight which further led him to subscribe for the Success Magazine. He read them monthly which helped him develop discipline, positive thinking, and above all he started setting goals for himself. He enjoyed listening to speeches on personal development from various success virtual mentors. Doing this got him promoted to Customer Technical Representative. Slowly he learnt that "To be successful you need to bring value to the market place by improving yourself” and he made a change to his old thought “Work experience is need to get the job you desire but only education and personal development will get you promoted”. Therefore he joined for the MBA program from Birla Institute of Technology, India and within another one year got promoted to Senior Technical Sales Representative. The other thing which he realised was that he had to be a good communicator and leader if he needed to take his career to the next level. That is when he started cutting though the cocoon to be a butterfly. He found it really hard as he had to face a lot of challenges to be full grown beautiful butterfly.
So he went to Toastmasters to improve his communication skills and did very well in the beginning. He started to see his butterfly wings and that is when his ego started to build up which began to slow down his life. Slowly laziness started to take over and he began to relax a bit in life. In turn, life also started to relax with him and he kind of started enjoying the way life was going. However, when he finished his MBA, he achieved great sales results but then his company was not ready to reward or promote him and that is when he realised that he had messed it up. Furthermore, things started to come more slow when the company's management changed and their team was re-organized, he felt like as though he was stuck and didn’t have the strength to get out of the cocoon. That is when he started reviewing his life and then realised that the Devil called “laziness” had slowly taken over him which made him weak was unable to break through the cocoon. In the year 2011 he decided to destroy it before it destroyed him. Therefore, determined he brought his life back on track by revisiting all the planning that he used to do before and in addition decided to enrolled for MSc in Business Psychology, as he was always curious to know how our mind works and how this could be applied in business.
Freedom : Butterfly Stage - Just the Beginning 😊
By 2012, it began to show results, he got offered a new job in a Gas Turbines Maintenance company as the Regional Sales Manager - Middle East & South Asia and the following year got an additional region, Central Asia added to his responsibility. This is when he really began to come out of the cocoon. His job allowed him to work from home which allowed a lot of flexibility including traveling, hotels, money, bonuses etc. After having all this, some questions always bothered him "Why was I born?" "What is my purpose? Am I am just going to die? Therefore during his official travel made sure to visit the near by Temples, Churches, Saint's Samadhi, Dargahs (Shrine) regardless of religion, to see he would get the answers to his question. Didn't get any answer from that so decided to forget that. The next important turn in his life was when his wife came into his life, Riya. He considered her as his other half and that when he realised he was complete.
One day he went back to his high school to visit his teachers and his old Supervisor mentioned with a gloom that “In the current generation both the children and their parents are not like yours”, Deek began to wonder what is the reason for this apparent difference. Why does this opinion resonate everywhere? He noticed that everyone is so busy nowadays and they are unable to find the time while the current generation urgently needed our time. In the mean while he also spoke to many young adults and realized that they were just like everybody else. The only faint line of difference being that they thought slightly differently but emotionally we are all the same. Very few people are able to understand them and see their problems through their eyes. That when it clicked "God has given him so much and now it time to give it back to the world that God had created" and he said SAID - Speak, Accept, Develop & Inspire for spread the messaged of Positivity. His wife, told to open up a facebook account and start sharing your content. Since we both considered as one we decided to open a combined a facebook account and invited all our families & friends and mentioned about new venture but there was less support from them
So then he first started writing few article on facebook to share his message and ran some ads to reach more people. That is when people started started messaging his with their problem like depression, breakup, suicidal thoughts & parent issues. He used to daily chat with two or three people and and some how people began understand the concept of positive and he used to collect that testimonial so there is some proofs of his work. Did it for a year whenever he had time and then people wanted to meet. Then he decided during his work travel he would meet during his free time from work. His first meeting was done at the Taj Hotel, Mumbai Lobby with a boy named Pragnesh who came all the way from Vapi, then it was a girl named Poorvi and then a group of students studying accounts lead by Dharshan. They came with their doubts about life and he could clear their doubts and show them the path to positivity. Then there was more request for meetup all around India when he travelled and one day he had a meetup with teacher named Puspha Iyer where we discussed a lot about positive which brought a new turn to his life. She suggested to one of his uncle to arrange his session at at Chinmaya Arts & Science College (Woman). His first public talk happed in front of 140 students. The sessions happened in a very strange way, rather than a motivational talk it went to more of Q&A session, where he randomly asked students to ask any questions or doubts about life and he would reply to it. That when he says felt like a butterfly, going to various flower giving them the light of positivity. Then onwards it was no looking back and the flight was one. But then many people asked the charges for his session but then when ever he gave them a price the session always got cancelled. Which was very strange. That day he decided all his session would be done free of charge for the rest of his life. All his session are arranged by students and general goes word of mouth as he also decided never to promote his service as he believes that "For every garden there is time and for everyone flower there is time and when the butterfly is ready for them, he (Butterfly) will arrive.
Deek is here to talk to the youth/adults & give them that vision which will guide them to a new positive direction of life by igniting the fire in them and their family. Live a life of a butterfly. Ask him any question from birth to death and he will give you a positive aspect to it.
Always Thankful to his Gurus & God for all the guidance and Positive things that happened in his life.
